Sound effects and music in thrillers are carefully chosen to strengthen the tension of the scene. Silence is also used to create suspense or to allow a particular moment to be grasped by the audience, for example, after a climax scene of murder, silence would be introduced in order for the audience to fully comprehend the situation as well as initiating fear of what will happen next.
