EDITING

Obtrusive editing

Thrillers use fast and slow transitions to illustrate the change of atmosphere.  A slow scene transition would represent an ominous tone whereas quick-shots would accentuate feelings of anxiety and tension.

Editing pieces the details of the plot together allowing the audience to follow the story line easily, although some movies may use techniques such as cross-cutting, with good editing the difference in times should be clear.
