A positive point about my preliminary is that the effects proved to be successful as I received audience feedback which showed that the aim of certain effects was perceived accurately. The 180 degree angle scene where the colouring of the room was in greyscale and the timer was shown in the corner of the screen is an example of this. The purpose of this effect was to show the passing of time, which was obvious to the audience. From this I learnt that special effects played a prominent role in conveying an idea to the audience.
7) Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
In the development of my main task, I found that I had more of an opportunity to explore my creativity as I was not restricted by the character’s movement or the camera angles. I decided to explore different media forms to create my main task this included photography and recorded vocals. In the progression from my preliminary to my main task I discovered ways that I could manipulate media forms to contribute to my construction.
I learnt that by using other media formats I could produce a two minute long film that had my own original input in regards to filming and sound. Moreover, by acting in the film myself I was able to present a character which was ideal to my vision.
