6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?
CROP
I clicked the arrow on the side of the effect which presented the cropping options available.
By selecting the ‘right’ function and typing in a number, I was able to choose the amount of the video screen on the right side that I wanted to cut from the film. By increasing the number more of the video would be cut out. This would be the same for all four functions, left would be to cut out from the left side, as top and bottom would trim from their stated title.
I chose to crop 32.0% of the screen because I wanted to isolate the character in the scene and the cropping created dark sections on the screen which I used to advocate the theme of darkness in my film and delete objects in the background.
Above is an un-cropped still of the clip.
To the right is the edited clip.
I clicked the arrow button on the side of effect which gave a list of light editing techniques to choose from. I used the first effect on the list which increased the intensity of the dark tones in the image.
LEVELS
I changed the level from ‘0’ to ‘28’ to depict a more threatening appearance.
Below are the before and after shots of the image which was edited; the effect worked by increasing the concentration of darkness in the picture.
To the left is the image without the lighting levels. Below is the image with the added effect.
I also found that by increasing the level of (RGB) Black, the sharpness and clarity of the image increased, which in hand create a daunting appearance.
