TITLE, LOCATION, SOUND AND CHARACTERS

I shall call my main task ‘Sacrifice’ as the plot is centred on this theme. One worded films such as Twilight, Hancock or Avatar use the lack of description to create an ambiguous tone, which in hand presents a mysterious atmosphere which grips the audience in through their curiosity.  Moreover, the word ‘Sacrifice’ is commonly associated with the ideas of murder and may also have some religious connotations therefore the controversy of the title adds uniqueness to the film.

When choosing the location for my main task I had to pick a set which would accurately reflect the mood and themes that I wanted to be present in my film. I found a location which was suitable for my main task as it was dark and ominous. The settings needed for my film were supplied by the location as there was a staircase, dim isolated rooms and a metal door.

I will feature two characters in my film. However, the main will focus on the young female character, as the other character will remain anonymous in order to build suspense and create an enigmatic atmosphere. The young girl is wearing a light blue pyjama top to suggest that she was taken at night.

Sound:
These are the possible sounds which I may include in my main task:
- Ominous sound effects i.e. whispering
- Door creaking and female crying in the background
- The scene begins with a low voice explaining the beliefs of the cult
- Camera flash
- Eerie background music
- Rain and thunder
- Diegetic sounds: footsteps, talking, scraping etc.

The mystery character would be identified through their footwear. Dark blue wellington boots will be worn as dark colours a more common for an older character and the blue may suggest the character is male as this is a colour which is usually associated with males.

The light colour is also to reflect her innocence, which has been tainted by the brutal behaviour of the cult.
