Goldeneye

​​The second shot of the opening shows the character in action, it appears as the character is running either towards something or from something, from this the audience is aware of the genre which is action thriller.

The long shot of the location establishes the scene, in the part we see the distance the character has to travel. Moreover, a wide shot is used also, this allows the audience to fully view the place.
In the opening sequence of Goldeneye, the picture is mainly in black and white and the main character is introduced through an effect which isolates him. The audience views the character through what appears to be spy ware, as the shot resembles the shape of a monocular; The spy theme is established.
Furthermore, the scene changes to red to represent blood, hence, death is a topic in the film. The audience’s attention is grabbed by the use of technical effects which are reinforced by the music, the audio in the opening is commonly used in spy movies especially in classic British spy films such as James Bond.​
The sound during this scene is not as dramatic as the music in the beginning, rather it seems there is a low sustained sound which builds suspense.
