6) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?

When designing my titles I had to consider the font, colouring and movement.

Movement

To add originality to my titles, I decided to have a moving title which would reflect the genre. As my film is a psychological thriller, I wanted my title to have moments of calm and shock.

I applied a video effect to my title called ‘displacement.’ I learnt that by applying this effect my title would have sudden moment where the positioning of the text would change.

By constructing my film I gained a greater understanding of title movements and how effects can represent a certain genre.

Font

I downloaded a variety of different fonts I could use for the title. I based my font on the theme of thriller and looked at the presentation of other thriller fonts for inspiration. The program I used to create the font had a standard variety of title styles to choose from; however, I decided not to use these styles as they were not suitable for my thriller. The font used for my thriller was Black Asylum. The reason I chose this font was because it was threatening and suited the genre of my film. I learnt that a variety of title presentations can be generated through the use of technology.

Colouring

The colours used for my title were given by Adobe Premiere, following the conventions of thriller I used the colours, red, white and black for my titling. This was done by using colour effects such as shadow, in order to create a red glow around the letters.
