Master of Thrillers:
Sir Alfred Hitchcock was a British film director and producer. He is famous for creating numerous techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres such as binary opposition which is the use of contrasts in film i.e. Black and white or dark and light clothing, lighting or setting; this is why he is known as the master of thrillers.
Psycho:
Here are two binary opposites within the film psycho. There is the obvious clip of the woman in black underwear contrasted against her white underwear conveying good versus evil.
“Hitchcock’s mastery of the art grows greater with each film.”
-- Francois Truffaut
