Editing
The first piece of editing on my videos was correcting the lighting. I decided to use a video effect called 'levels' which allowed me to control the darkness and brightness levels in certain areas on my videos. I increased the (RGB) black levels to 22 and the effect of this can be seen in the image on the right side. I found that by changing the lighting in the scene i could create an intimidating around the detective character.
180 Degree Angle/Time passing scene
In my preliminary editing, I wanted to connote the passing of time through the use of a colour .Therefore, I presented the scene in greyscale to add significance to the scene and so that it was apparent that the clip was not in the same time as the rest of the film. Moreover, I added an effect called 'Echo' which copied the characters movement and created a double of the character with a lower opacity.
The next technique was too increase the speed of the angle so that the video length would not be too long and to emphasise on the idea of time passing.
To show the length of time (the countdown in the corner of the screen) I had to create an individual title for each new time. This was to advocate the idea of time passing as 30 minutes were counted on the timer.
To transition from the scene of the time passing back into the normal time, i used the additive dissolve video transition at the end of the scene. The placement of the transition was at this point as the introduction of the new scene was highlighted by the background music.
